Excerpts:
"We do have one habit which works for us — we try to avoid public transportation and instead prefer going everywhere on foot. This allows for two things. Firstly, we can get „lost” in the city, which almost always helps us discover places which are off the beaten track. Secondly, it also allows us to observe the people and places where tourists rarely venture. This is how we found a pub, completely by chance, which had the best fish & chips that we’ve ever had."
"Walking around London, ducking down side streets, we noticed a lot of tiny small houses, called mews. They used to be rows of stables with sleeping quarters above, built behind larger city houses in the 17th and 18th centuries. They have since been converted to dwellings, often priced in the hundreds of thousands of pounds. They’re just so detached from reality and so charming that we strongly recommend going out of your way to look for them. Their price naturally depends on their location in the city — nevertheless, we fell in love and I could definitely see us living in one of them."
"We walked over fifteen kilometres on the first day and spent the evening watching the sunset through our hotel window, looking out over the Thames..."
